Things that find the camera’s eye are the ones that spark curiosity, recover memories, symbolize values, present an aesthetic appeal, or perhaps make some statement. Often they are abstract shapes that evoke some mood through shadings and texture—standing out simply by how they render light. Each image transforms the ordinary into something remarkable, inviting you to notice the details and beauty you might otherwise overlook.

Pop’s Tools

A few old hand tools laid out on a workbench might not catch the eye at first, but if you slow down, the story emerges. The wear, the dings, the cracks tell the story of fixing things. These were some of my grandfather’s everyday tools, and they were an extension of his ingenious mind and his hands. They were part of who he was.

He has long since faded into the dust of an era before our disposable culture. Pop fixed things with skills learned on the farm, in the garage, and around the house. For a little boy like me, he made all things seem possible.
